A 3D PRINTED PADDING
The evolution of digital 3D printing has allowed us to develop a new saddle without the constraints or limitations imposed by traditional manufacturing methods and materials. The Adaptive saddle padding is made by Carbon using its revolutionary Digital Light Synthesis technology. DLS is an additive manufacturing process that uses digital ultraviolet light projection, oxygen-permeable optics, and programmable liquid resins to produce parts with excellent mechanical properties, resolution, and surface finish.
CUSTOM ZONAL CUSHIONING
Thanks to Carbon technology, biomechanists and engineers have an unprecedented opportunity: to design and create multiple functional zones within the saddle, adjusting each separately for specific mechanical properties. Each of these key functional zones is designed with distinctive cushioning and mechanical response, progressively and seamlessly combined within the same padding.
LAB TESTED, ROAD PROVEN
Professional and amateur cyclists have been tested both in fizik laboratories and on the road. During every development phase, each iteration was carefully tested. Great attention was given to understanding how pressure patterns change based on different bike geometries, riding positions, and riding styles.
FROM IDEA, DIRECTLY TO SCALABLE PRODUCTION
Thanks to this unique combination of process and material, we were given the opportunity to develop a product five times faster, creating and testing hundreds of iterations in the field. Being applicable to mass production, this technology completely redesigns the traditional manufacturing process, accelerating and skipping all intermediate steps.
LONG-LASTING PERFORMANCE
The saddle is very easy to clean. Even with the dirtiest road mud, all you have to do is simply wash it with water. Everything that goes in, comes out. We subjected it to the toughest tests, simulating accelerated aging, UV aging, and wear resistance following strict protocols.
