Why this kit matters
The Hiryū was one of the fleet carriers of the Imperial Japanese Navy, active during early Pacific War operations including the attack on Pearl Harbor, and ultimately sunk at the Battle of Midway in June 1942.
For model builders, this Fujimi 1/350 kit offers a large canvas to showcase detailed ship modelling skills — from the flight deck and island superstructure to the hull’s form and included aircraft. The scale and historical subject make this kit a showpiece for any serious hobbyist collection.
How to use it
Begin by trimming sprue parts and cleaning any mould lines. Use plastic cement to bond hull halves, deck and superstructure. Paint the hull and deck surfaces using appropriate ship-colours (primer recommended). Assemble finer parts such as the island, aircraft, gun turrets and deck equipment. Apply decals, finish with clear coat or weathering for realism. Once complete, mount on a display base or shelf as a commanding centrepiece.
This is a plastic model kit. Assembly is required. Paint and glue required (not included).
