This two-DVD set offers substantially more content than the 2000 Commemorative Edition, including over 100 minutes of interviews with Lloyd Webber, producer Cameron Mackintosh, stage director Trevor Nunn, director-choreographer Gillian Lynne, designer John Napier, and Gerry Schoenfeld, who helped bring the show to Broadway. (Nunn's segment lasts over half an hour, while Lloyd Webber's and Schoenfeld's are the shortest, at 9 and 7 minutes, respectively.) Intercut with footage from the video production, photos, and costume sketches, the interviews cover various aspects of the show's development, including the 1980 Sydmonton Festival production, Valerie Eliot's assistance with her late husband's unpublished materials, Judi Dench's part as the very first Grizabella, and the creation of "Memory."
