Capturing "Frozen" was a challenging yet rewarding adventure in the remote Highlands of Iceland. Far from the usual tourist trails, Aldeyjarfoss waterfall, framed by its unique hexagonal basalt columns, presented a rare opportunity. Few photographers have witnessed this hidden gem in its winter splendor, making this image particularly special.

My month-long photographic journey through Iceland's winter wonderland led me to this little-known yet striking location. The question was: would Aldeyjarfoss be completely frozen, or would its powerful flow persist? The trek in a super-jeep, followed by a hike through the snowy landscape, was an adventure in itself.

The sight that greeted us was breathtaking. While icicles clung to the surrounding rocks, the river continued its powerful flow, preventing the pool below from freezing and revealing a stunning cobalt blue. The clear skies illuminated the virgin snow and highlighted the unique basalt columns, adding depth and contrast to the scene. A long exposure technique created a magnificent ombré effect in the pool, capturing the magic of this frozen moment.
