Since the mid-1990s, Swedish band Defleshed has been actively working as one of the most important bands in the deathrush genre. However, they lost inspiration and wanted to try something else, so they disbanded in 2005, the same year they released their fifth album, Reclaim the Beat. Last year, 2021, they recorded a couple of new songs for inclusion in a record box set.The core members of the band, guitarist Lars Lofven, drummer Matte Mauldin, and bassist/vocalist Gustav Jorde, reunited in the fall of 2021 at Lolly Sound Studios in Uppsala, Sweden, with Darkein's Lawrence McGraw Together with Lee, the band began recording for the album's release with two sessions of two weeks on drums, two weeks on guitar and bass, and three days on vocals.Jorde says, "We wanted to look at our current sound from a new perspective. We knew it had to be fast and furious and diverse. The result is an album filled with maximum power and energy. (C)RS
