Kate finds her inspiration in the nature of the Blue Mountains where she lives and paints Overlaying rhythmic forms are created by line and colour evoking a musicality in her artworks. This semi-abstract piece depicts Australian native flora and bird life. There are 2 little yellow finches and a silver eye honeyeater in the branches of the banksia overlaying sandstone colours in the background.There is a sense of joyful wonder in Kate’s playful nature series of Banksia.
