Biodance is the Korean biotech brand that went viral for its Bio-Collagen Real Deep Mask, the overnight hydrogel patch that K-beauty Reddit obsessed over in 2023 and 2024. The Hydro Ceramide Cleansing Powder is the brand's take on enzyme cleansing, packed in 30 single-dose sachets. You pour the powder into wet palms, emulsify it into a soft foam, and wash. The format is built for travel (TSA-safe, spill-proof) and for people who hate the bacterial concerns of squeeze-bottle cleansers.
The hero is the ceramide-enriched enzyme base. Enzyme powders typically use papain (papaya) or protease enzymes to dissolve dead surface cells gently. Biodance adds ceramides and hydrating complex on top, which is why the powder doesn't leave the tight, stripped feeling most enzyme cleansers cause. It's the gentlest daily exfoliation you can do without an acid or a scrub.
The enzyme base (typically protease or papain) loosens the protein bonds of dead surface cells, letting them rinse away with water. The powder format keeps the enzymes dry and active until you add water at the moment of use, which preserves potency. Ceramides and hydrating humectants layer back in during the cleanse so skin doesn't feel tight after rinsing. The finish is soft, bright, and fresh.
Tear open one sachet, tap the powder into damp palms, add a small amount of water, and rub palms together to create a soft foam. Massage onto damp face for 30 to 45 seconds, focusing on areas prone to texture (T-zone, chin). Rinse with lukewarm water. Use AM and/or PM.
Different job. The enzyme powder adds gentle exfoliation on top of cleansing, which your daily foam doesn't do. If you already use an acid toner or exfoliating pad, daily enzyme powder might be too much. Alternate between your regular cleanser and the powder if you're worried about over-exfoliation.
Yes for most skin types. Enzyme exfoliation is gentle enough for daily use, especially with the ceramide buffer in this formulation. Users with very sensitive or barrier-compromised skin should start at 3 to 4 times per week.
All three are enzyme powder cleansers. Tatcha is rice-extract forward and lightly exfoliating. Dermalogica is the old western standard, more aggressive enzyme action. Biodance is mid-range: ceramide-buffered enzymes, gentler than Dermalogica, similar or stronger than Tatcha.
30 days if used daily. 2 months if alternating with a regular cleanser. The single-dose format is convenient but pricier per wash than a bulk powder jar.
Generally yes, thanks to the ceramide and hydrating base. But if your barrier is actively damaged (from aggressive retinol, laser recovery, etc.), skip all exfoliation including enzymes for 2 to 4 weeks.
