Description:
Composer Paul Gröner was born in Berlin. His music, while German in style, was also strongly influenced by French Impressionism, making his style different from that of other German composers of the same period. The Cello Concerto, premiered in 1927, was highly praised by the critics of the time for its beautiful adagio movement, in which the cello sings well. The Violin Concerto, written in the neoclassical style, and the Flute Concerto, Greiner's last work, reflect the tragic scenes of Berlin bombed during World War II. Naxos Japan
