When a slipping or stretched drive belt throws off your CNC router's axis calibration or causes your conveyor to skip steps, the entire job is compromised. Machinists, fabricators, and equipment builders who depend on repeatable, synchronous motion need a belt that holds its pitch under load — not one that stretches out after a few hundred hours. This S8M closed-loop rubber timing belt is built for exactly those demanding environments.
Each belt is sold as 1 piece (1 Pcs) of closed-loop (endless) synchronous belt. The belt features an 8mm pitch (distance between tooth centers), a 20mm (≈0.79") width, and is available in 161 perimeter sizes ranging from 352mm (≈13.9") to 4400mm (≈173.2"). The rubber compound is reinforced with tensile cords to resist elongation under cyclic loading. Tooth profile follows the S8M trapezoidal standard.
Typical use cases include CNC router X/Y axis drives, laser cutter gantry systems, 3D printer motion platforms, light industrial conveyor drives, and automated pick-and-place equipment — anywhere a closed-loop S8M synchronous belt replacement is needed for precise, slip-free power transmission.

Measure the center-to-center distance between your two pulleys, then calculate: Belt Perimeter ≈ 2 × C-to-C + (π × pitch diameter of each pulley). For a quick inch conversion, divide the mm value by 25.4 — for example, 400mm ≈ 15.75", 800mm ≈ 31.5", 1200mm ≈ 47.2". When in doubt, size up to the next available perimeter to avoid over-tensioning your drive.
S8M belts are generally rated for moderate-to-heavy torque transmission. For a 20mm-wide S8M belt, the typical allowable tangential force is in the range of 200–600 N, depending on pulley diameter, number of teeth in mesh, and operating speed. Consult your drive system's engineering specifications to confirm suitability for your application.
The rubber compound used in S8M belts generally offers moderate resistance to moisture and mild oils. However, prolonged exposure to UV radiation, ozone, or harsh chemicals can degrade the belt over time. For outdoor or wet-environment use, inspect the belt regularly and replace it at the first sign of cracking, glazing, or tooth wear.
S8M belts use a trapezoidal tooth profile with an 8mm pitch. They are compatible with S8M-profile pulleys. Note that HTD 8M pulleys use a curvilinear (rounded) tooth profile and are not interchangeable with S8M trapezoidal belts. Always match the belt tooth profile to the pulley groove profile exactly before installing.
Choose belt pitch based on your drive's torque and speed requirements. S5M (5mm pitch) is typically suited for lighter loads at higher speeds. S8M (8mm pitch) handles moderate-to-heavy loads at medium speeds — commonly used in CNC routers, laser cutters, and industrial conveyors. S14M (14mm pitch) is generally reserved for heavy-duty, low-speed, high-torque applications. When replacing an existing belt, always match the original pitch.
Each listing is for 1 piece of closed-loop S8M timing belt in the selected perimeter size. Pulleys, tensioners, and fasteners are not included. Select the perimeter that matches your existing drive system or your calculated belt length.
A closed-loop (endless) timing belt is manufactured as a continuous loop with no joint or splice. This eliminates the weak point found in cut-and-joined belts, resulting in more consistent tension, smoother motion, and longer service life. For precision CNC and motion-control applications, this is especially important because any variation in belt tension directly affects positioning accuracy.
