The Motions
Description:
<The 45th issue of the "60's GARAGE ROCKIN' OLDAYS" reissue series, which is linked to the "60's GARAGE DISK GUIDE" by All Days Records under the supervision of Jimmy Masuko, features beat/garage numbers by the top Dutch band, The Motions! In the mid to late 1960's, The Motions competed with The Golden Earlings for the top popularity in the Netherlands. Robbie van Leeuwen, who later formed Shocking Blue, took the leadership of the band, and his album "Introduction To The Motions" is a popular album with good songs in the style of the Kinks/Hollywoods. At the time, Walker Brothers-style soulish ballads were a hit, so the best albums tend to focus on those songs. The psychedelic period after Gerard Loyne joined the band has a different charm from the early period, but this CD is mainly composed of beat/garage numbers with a pop sense from the early period when Löwen joined the band. I hope you will give it a listen. Commentary: Jimmy Masuko
