DISC 1 is an album commemorating the 100th anniversary (2013) of the world premiere of Stravinsky's "The Rite of Spring." DISC 1 includes the 1945 Suites from his last years of stereo recordings of his own compositions, "The Rite of Spring" and "The Firebird," which he recorded in 1959 and 1967 conducting the Columbia Symphony Orchestra; DISC 2 includes the same two pieces as DISC 1, "The Rite of Spring," and the 1945 Suite from the "The Firebird," which he recorded in 1967 conducting the New York Philharmonic. DISC2 contains the same two pieces as DISC1, which he conducted with the New York Philharmonic in the 1940s. (C)RS
