[universounds presents DEEP JAZZ REALITY Vol. 2] Takeshi Shibuya was active as a jazz pianist in the 1960s, but he eventually became ill and stopped his activities as a performer. In the mid-1970s, while he was enjoying success as a composer and arranger, he heard Shoyuki Akutagawa's performance and resumed his activities as a pianist. This chance encounter eventually led to the birth of this work. The piano is beautiful without wasting a single note. Although he is not talkative, his persuasive power is overwhelming. Incidentally, Akutagawa is said to have played the tape for 26 hours in the making of this album. This is one of the best solo piano recordings. Originally released in 1981; latest digital remastering in 2019. New commentary included.
