Description:
Mendelssohn first visited England when he was 20 years old. He went to Scotland and was so impressed by the scenery that he came up with the idea for his "Symphony No. 3. On his way there, he also visited the stormy Hebrides and was impressed by the scenic "Fingal's Cave" with its wild charm, which gave birth to the overture "Fingal's Cave". In between these "two related" works, Wittmann inserts his own work, presenting his talents as one of the busiest composers, clarinetists, and conductors of 2018, and showing his commitment to his work. The "180 beats per minute," dominated by the thoroughly intense rhythms that he says were inspired by disco nights, and the "Fantasy for Clarinet Solo," with its striking sustained notes at the beginning, are so exciting that they rewrite Mendelssohn's familiar melodies into something fresh! The music is performed by Naxos Japan
