When a slipping or stretched drive belt causes missed steps, positioning errors, or unexpected downtime in your CNC router, 3D printer, or automated conveyor, the root cause is almost always belt quality. Engineers, makers, and machine builders who need consistent, zero-slip power transmission rely on HTD 3M closed-loop timing belts — and this 30mm-wide version is built to deliver exactly that.
Each belt is a single closed-loop (endless) construction made from polyurethane (PU) with a steel wire tensile cord. The HTD 3M profile features a 3mm pitch with rounded tooth geometry. Belt width is 30mm, and available circumferences range from 1248mm (≈49.1″) to 2010mm (≈79.1″) in 3mm increments — over 250 length options to match your exact drive geometry. Select your model number from the dropdown above; the number after the dash is the belt circumference in millimeters.
Typical use cases include CNC gantry drives requiring precise linear positioning, large-format 3D printer axis belts where repeatability matters, robotic arm joints and actuator drives, and light industrial conveyor or indexing systems where synchronous motion is critical.

Measure the center-to-center distance between your two pulleys, then calculate the required belt circumference using: L = 2C + π(D1+D2)/2, where C is center distance and D1/D2 are pulley pitch diameters. For a quick field method, wrap a string around both pulleys and measure it. Available lengths run from 1248mm (≈49.1″) to 2010mm (≈79.1″) in 3mm steps. When in doubt, size up slightly — a belt that is too short cannot be installed without damaging the tensile cord.
The steel wire tensile core generally provides strength suitable for light-to-medium power transmission — typically 3D printers, CNC routers, and small robotics. Exact load ratings vary by belt length and installation tension. For high-load or continuous-duty industrial applications, contact us to confirm suitability before ordering.
Polyurethane (PU) is generally more resistant to oils, greases, and mild moisture than neoprene. However, prolonged exposure to standing water, direct UV, or aggressive chemicals is not recommended. For outdoor or washdown environments, verify compatibility with your specific conditions. In most cases, PU belts outperform neoprene in workshop settings where coolant mist or lubricant contact is possible.
Yes. This belt follows the HTD 3M industry standard — 3mm pitch, rounded tooth profile — and is compatible with any HTD 3M pulley regardless of manufacturer. Before ordering, confirm your pulley's tooth profile is specifically HTD 3M. It is not compatible with GT2, GT3, T5, MXL, or other profiles, even if the pitch appears similar.
HTD 3M and GT2 belts use different tooth profiles and are not interchangeable. Check your printer's pulley specification first. HTD 3M is typically found on larger-format printers and CNC machines where higher torque capacity is needed. GT2 is more common on compact desktop FDM printers. Always match the belt profile to your existing pulleys — mixing profiles will cause tooth skipping and positioning errors.
The model number encodes the full belt specification: HTD = High Torque Drive profile; 3M = 3mm pitch; the number after the dash is the belt's outer circumference in millimeters. So HTD3M-1500mm is a closed-loop belt with a 1500mm (≈59.1″) circumference and 30mm width. The number of teeth is circumference ÷ pitch = 1500 ÷ 3 = 500 teeth.
No. This is an endless (closed-loop) belt and cannot be cut and re-joined without specialized splicing equipment. Select the circumference that matches your application from the variant dropdown above. If your required length falls between two listed sizes or outside the 1248mm–2010mm range, contact us — we may be able to source it.
Never force the belt over a pulley flange or kink it sharply during installation. Loosen the motor mount or idler to create slack, slip the belt over both pulleys, then re-tension to the manufacturer's recommended deflection spec for your drive. Avoid using tools that could nick or crush the belt body, as damage to the PU can expose the steel cord to corrosion over time.
