This is also a good moment to upgrade from the stock plastic tappet anti-rotation devices to S&S billet aluminum Tappet Cuffs as these capture the tappets without impacting vertical motion and keeping them perfectly aligned, even in high stress, high RPM situations. Gear drive cam kits include all parts needed to convert to a reliable cam drive with improved valve timing accuracy. Due to machining variations in the stock cam plate oversized or undersized gears may be needed to achieve correct gear lash.
