Install 24-30 inches above an electric cooktop, or 30-36 inches above a gas cooktop. Use a 10" smooth-walled rigid metal duct — never flexible or corrugated. The larger duct minimizes noise and back-pressure at full 1200 CFM. Keep ducting runs as short and straight as possible to preserve airflow.
