May 24, 2023 marks the day on which the German carrier took delivery of its 600th Airbus aircraft, the A321neo, registered D-AIEQ. Lufthansa is the largest reciepient of Airbus aircraft in history. To celebrate this milestone, a large silver-colored “600” was painted on the fuselage sides. Since 1976, following delivery of the then new A300B2, the airline has taken delivery of no less than ten different Airbus models. Looking ahead, Lufthansa plans to continue its partnership by acquiring over 100 further Airbus airplanes by 2026, then surpassing the number of 700 deliveries.
