Protection and standards

The CM-6M meets EN 136:1998 Class III, the European standard's highest classification for full-face respiratory protective devices. The polycarbonate visor independently meets EN 168 for impact protection, making it suitable for riot-control scenarios, non-lethal projectile environments, and debris-heavy operations. The mask requires an environment with at least 19.5% oxygen and is approved for use in Class 1 explosive environments.

The bromobutyl rubber facepiece provides high resistance to chemical agents and environmental degradation. Visor impact resistance

The polycarbonate visor meets EN 168 impact protection. Beyond standard testing, the visor held up to a CTS bean bag round fired from a 12-gauge Mossberg shotgun at 15 feet — no cracks, no punctures, no failures. It also withstood repeated blunt impacts from a Maglite flashlight baton with only minor scuffing. PROFILM visor protectors (sold separately) are compatible with the CM-6M and available in tinted variants. They allow a contaminated or obscured visor layer to be peeled away in seconds, restoring full visibility without removing the mask — a critical capability in riot conditions or chemical exposure scenarios.

Storage requirements

Store the CM-6M in a dark, cool, dust-free area away from sudden temperature changes. Storage temperature must remain between 10 °C and 25 °C with relative humidity no higher than 65%. The mask must not be exposed to direct sunlight or radiant heat. Do not store with fuels, solvents, lubricants, or other flammable substances. Keep away from electrical equipment that generates sparks, ozone, or electrostatic discharge. Avoid deforming the rubber facepiece or internal components during storage to preserve the seal and service life.

Keep unused filters vacuum-sealed until deployment — opening a filter exposes the activated carbon to ambient air and reduces its protective capacity.

Does the CM-6M require two filters to work?

No. One filter is sufficient for normal operation. The unused port must be sealed with the included plug. Running two filters simultaneously lowers breathing resistance but adds weight and bulk. Single-filter use is recommended for most applications.

Can this mask be used with a rifle or optics?

Will this mask fit users with facial hair?

No. All gas masks rely on a continuous facepiece seal against bare skin. Any facial hair at the contact points — including short stubble — risks breaking the seal and compromising protection.
