Description:
The Stuttgart Ballet's version of Cranko's "Jabbermouth" is a vivid, sun-drenched Italian stage performance. Based on Shakespeare's comedy with music by Domenico Scarlatti (arranged by Kurt-Heinz Stoltze) and choreographed by John Cranko, this is a masterpiece of comedy ballet that everyone can enjoy. The story is about the marriage of Katharina, the eldest daughter of a wealthy Baptista, and Bianca, the beautiful and good-natured second daughter, and the hilarious depiction of how the dashing and clever Petruchio marries Katharina, "tames" her, and transforms her into a dutiful lady. Katharina is played by Stuttgart Ballet's leading principal, Elisa Badenes, and Petruchio by veteran principal Jason Reilly.Bonus footage includes an interesting interview with two of the ballet's artistic directors, old and new, on the history and origins of the ballet (in German with English subtitles) King International
