Ikat is a traditional resist-dyeing technique in which the yarns are carefully tied and dyed before being woven. The pattern is created in the threads themselves, giving the fabric its distinctive, slightly blurred and poetic edges — a signature of true ikat craftsmanship.

This technique originates from several regions worldwide, most notably Indonesia, India, Central Asia, and parts of South America.  Ikat holds deep cultural significance and has been practiced for centuries as both an artistic and ceremonial textile tradition.
