Why this aircraft matters
PH-XLH was an ATR 72-201 that joined KLM Exel on 6 January 1999. It served regional routes across Europe under the Dutch operator that began life as Air Exel Commuter and later rebranded.
Its predecessor operated for airlines like Foshing and TransAsia before the ATR found new life with KLM Exel. After leaving the fleet in November 2005, it flew for airlines including Islas Airways and DHL under different registrations, extending its utility beyond its KLM years.
The ATR 72-200 proved essential for short-haul links. It offered quiet rides, efficient turboprop performance, and flexibility that jets could not match—especially on European regional paths.
When you display this model, you showcase more than a machine. You trace an aircraft through identities, roles, and decades of service. It stands for versatility, fleet heritage, and the shaping of regional air service.
How to use it
Place it on your desk, shelf, or diorama. Use the included stand for an in-flight angle or display it on the ground with landing gear down. No tools, glue, or paints are required. Everything is factory-finished and ready to go out of the box.
This is a diecast model. It is fragile and not recommended for children.
