Description:

John Luther Adams is the composer of "Become Ocean" (CA21101), an orchestral work that was called "the most beautiful apocalypse in music history" by The New Yorker and won the Pulitzer Prize in 2014. His work has always been inspired by nature, especially the Alaskan landscape where he lived, and "Sila: the Breath of the World" is another mystical work inspired by nature. The diverse percussion ensemble, the Crossing choir, which specializes in contemporary music, and the Jack Quartet sing and play each part freely, so that no two performances are ever the same.
