During the '80s Felt recorded 10 albums and ten singles for the Cherry Red and Creation labels. This gorgeously-produced series explores the work of one of the greatest indie groups in recent memory.

Lawrence was very lucky to have two such immensely talented musicians in his band in Maurice Deebank and Martin Duffy, and Train Above the City is the album where Duffy finally gets the spotlight the same way Deebank did on The Splendour of Fear.

The real highlight though is surprisingly Gary Ainge on the vibraphone, adding a lot of energy to the music compared to Duffy's sleepy piano. You can see why Lawrence titled this Train Above the City because the album really does capture the vibrancy of the city at night.
