Telz Boy's Choir and Christophorus make their first appearance! A collection of motets of the unknown Bach family! The Teltz Boys Choir sings a collection of motets from the 17th century "Bach Family"! For almost 70 years, the Tölz Boys Choir has been one of Germany's leading boys choirs with its excellent uniformity, shining treble, precise intonation, and clear articulation. Together with Michael Hofstetter, who has been the principal guest conductor since the summer of 2022, the choir presents an ambitious album of motets by the Bach family. In total, the Bach family consists of about 80 musicians, but only a handful of composers are known today.The album begins with Johann Bach, J.S. Bach's great-uncle, from the Bach family of the 17th century, followed by the brothers Johann Christoph and Johann Michael, cousins of J.S. Bach's father, and a distant relative, but one that J.S. Bach was said to have highly appreciated. The program features a selection of works by Johann Ludwig Bach and ends with a great motet by J.S. Bach, the great Bach who represented the family.
