The sixth collection in the "RESOUND BEETHOVEN" series pursued by the Vienna Academy Orchestra and Martin Haselböck, which uses instruments from Beethoven's time and performs with small ensembles, includes the "Symphony No. 8," a relatively small but ingenious work, and Piano Concerto in D major," which Beethoven himself arranged for piano from the "Violin Concerto" at the suggestion of Clementi. The instrument played by Wallisch is an 1825 fortepiano made during Beethoven's active period, and the performance takes place at the Austrian Academy of Sciences (former university), where many of Beethoven's important works were premiered. The sound that would have been heard in the early 18th century has been reproduced in its entirety.
