Cyphostemma Cirrhosum is indigenous to the southern region of Africa, dispersed in various countries including South Africa, Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Namibia. This plant thrives in an arid to semi-arid climates with it being well adapted to withstand prolonged periods of drought  and high temperatures. Growing in well-draining soils, these Cyphostemma are found in dry shrublands or rocky outcrops. They are able to send their long roots to anchor themselves and to reach deep water sources. Flowers are yellow and form in clusters.
