This album takes some time to grow on you. There are no bangers here. There is no gratification of your need for comfort. Instead, it's depression and mania all the way through. It sounds like Maus found his synthesizer in a dumpster, and that's the point. It's deliberately lo-fi, almost as minimalist as possible, and that style perfectly reflects the fragile, warped, and limited view of the world that's expressed via the lyrics - and Maus's haunting vocal performances, which at first sound silly, but eventually reveal themselves as demented and sad.

It's a good album for, say, going a week without leaving the house while spending the entire time thinking about the outside world.
