This 26 inch, circa 1940 vintage necklace has a natural antiqued gold finish to it. The fluted spheroid hollow beads measure .5 to 5/8 inch each. They have been string on a thin, delicate tiny cable chain. The .5 inch locking clasp is original to the necklace and still functional. It has a nice weight to it and not heavy.

There are no makers marks on this necklace.

This metal necklace is circa 1940 and made by a high end costume jewelry maker of the time. The first half of the 20th century was the heyday for well made costume jewelry sold from fine department stores to Woolworth, usually made in Europe or the United States. The manufacture and quality of costume jewelry deteriorated in the latter part of the century making this era the last with enduring products.
