This bridle is made of tan leather.
The browband wraps around the headpiece with a brass stud on each end.
The headstall has keepers which hold the T-bars of a watering bit.
There is a separate headpiece which holds the curb bit.
There is a white neck rope which attaches to the headstall with a tan leather strap
The buckles are gilt and have cast foliate decoration. The buckles on the curb headpiece and the neck rope are not the same as the rest.
The curb bit has tan reins with gilt buckles. There are no reins on the snaffle.
The branch or pad cheek curb bit is made of steel.
The mouthpiece has a low port and is stamped "Best Steel" and "B.C.".
Each cheek bears a gilt badge or boss. These badges show a King's crown over an olive wreath. In the centre of each badge there is the monogram "ER VII" and a crossed sword and baton. This monogram is for King Edward VII, which dates the bit between 1901 and 1910
The bit has its original curb hooks and swivelling lower curb rings.
The watering bit is stamped "E 20"
The bridle is in very good condition for its age
