The Prima APBX 10 AS2 active subwoofer, featuring a 10-inch speaker, is equipped with a high-performance amplification module that enhances all the technologies of the passive enclosure, such as the 2S² design (2 Sides / 2 Sounds), Plug & Play terminal block, and ultra-compact size.

The amplification module, with a power output of 400 W RMS, is developed using he-li technology (High-Efficiency / Low Impedance), which—thanks to the absence of a DC-DC voltage booster—achieves an impressive 90% efficiency, very close to the theoretical limit of Class D amplifiers.

The new DBT (Dynamic Bass Tracking) input stage allows the he-li amplifier to fully utilize its power, delivering tight, dynamic bass even at very high listening volumes. The removal of the voltage booster was made possible by the development of new dual voice coil speakers, which inherit all the Prima subwoofer technology but are characterized by ultra-low impedance (0.16 ohms for the APBX 10 AS).

This feature ensures perfect synergy with the he-li (High-Efficiency Low Impedance) technology, maximizing the combination of amplifier, speakers, and sealed enclosure to produce powerful, clean low frequencies.

The control section is comprehensive, allowing optimal adjustment of low-frequency output within the vehicle cabin. The 12 dB/Oct. Butterworth low-pass filter with variable cutoff frequency (50–200 Hz) can be bypassed when used with an AP bit processor featuring a dedicated sub pre-out. The adjustable bass-boost control (0 ÷ 6 dB) at 45 Hz allows the user to emphasize the low-end response.

The high-level input via multipolar connector simplifies integration with factory audio systems, while the low-level RCA input is dedicated to aftermarket sources. The ART (Automatic Remote Turn-On) function for automatic activation/deactivation of the subwoofer can be configured to be triggered by the remote signal from the source, voltage change on the high-level input, or audio signal from either input.

Phase control (0–180°) rounds out the feature set. The SSP (Sub Smart Plug) terminal block includes a single Plug & Play connector, allowing the enclosure to be easily and safely disconnected.
