Walking the esplanade, the late light hit the pavement in a golden wash. Along the edges, plantings flared green and red against the rows of buildings climbing upward.

The drawing became about light as a counterpoint—softening the new walls, brightening the space between. A moment where construction and nature, shadow and glow, were briefly held in balance.
