Further Reading Print No. 3: Down South, Outgazing Our Views is an Indonesian design journal edited by Januar Rianto and Almer Mikhail.
Up until now, the practice of graphic design is still very much perceived as a eurocentric discipline defined by perspectives and methodologies that are directly influenced by Western ideologies and institutions. This situation presents us with an imperativeness to lean into practices located outside of the current canon, specifically those located in Southeast Asia and the global Asian diaspora—the context within which we situate our publishing practice.
Featuring contributions from designers and typographers working in or adjacent to Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines and Indonesia, Further Reading Print No. 3 seeks to shed light on the issues that matter most to our contributors. Personal, political and cultural identities are interrogated through a multitude of perspectives, each expressed by way of critical or creative writing.
