Organic Red Yeast Rice (Monascus purpureus)

Our organic red yeast rice is cultivated in the US and is naturally high in active compounds without using toxic solvents, unlike other sources typically imported from China. There have been instances where imported RYR has been found to be spiked with statin drugs to enhance the naturally occurring compound.

We test every batch to ensure there are no detectable levels of citrinin, a mycotoxin that can contaminate lower-quality red yeast rice products. Red yeast rice contains polyphenols responsible for its distinctive red pigment. Modern research has demonstrated that Red Yeast Rice may optimize lipoprotein metabolism and support the healthy metabolism of oxidized lipoproteins by neutralizing free radicals.* It supports balanced inflammation in the blood vessels.*

Whole milk thistle has been shown to balance cholesterol metabolism in the liver.* The active compound silymarin from milk thistle is an antioxidant and protects and supports hepatocytes (liver cells).* The liver plays a key role in cholesterol metabolism.* Our milk thistle extract is 56% silymarin as tested using the most accurate method, HPLC. Most milk thistle extract products claim to contain 80% silymarin. However, standard tests use UV spectrometry, a less expensive testing method that overinflates silymarin content.

CoQ10

CoQ10 is an antioxidant and is necessary for essential cell function.* There is concern in medical research that statin medications can deplete CoQ10 levels, so it is added as an extra precaution.*
