Reverse engineered from an authentic 1959 Gibson® Les Paul®, this reproduction faithfully recreates the shape, profile and vintage aesthetics of one of the most iconic switch tips ever fitted to an electric guitar. Every effort has been made to preserve the subtle details that made the originals so desirable among collectors and vintage enthusiasts.
Inspired by the Catalin plastics used during Gibson's late-1950s production, this switch tip features the warm appearance and period-correct styling associated with the legendary Burst era. It's the perfect finishing touch for historic restorations, custom reissues and vintage-inspired builds where authenticity matters.
Catalin is a type of cast phenolic resin plastic that was developed in the 1920s as an improvement over earlier plastics such as Bakelite. Unlike Bakelite, which is typically dark and opaque, Catalin is known for its ability to be cast in a wide range of vibrant colors and translucent effects, making it especially popular for decorative items.
Individual Norlin® historic Catalin 3-way toggle switch tip for Gibson® bass and electric guitars. Compatible with Centralab® and Switchcraft® toggle switches.
Norlin® is the historic brand you’ve trusted since 1969. Specializing in replacement guitar parts to repair and refurbish vintage classics. Ushering in a new Norlin® era.
