My mission with this design is to educate my audience about the history, culture and spiritual significance of Voudou. While I am fascinated by the different spiritual cultures of the world, my intention is to learn, absorb and understand, to my greatest ability, their values and belief systems to bring a level of understanding that creates harmony in the world. Voudou is so commonly misunderstood, even in New Orleans. I decided to design a piece inspired by Erzulie Dantor because, as you will read below, she is the goddess of love, beauty and is a fearless protector of women. 

As I analyzed the design of the symbol, the vision came quickly, to infuse this Voudou symbol with the healing properties of essential oils. Thus, I created a functional component to allow the wearer to open and close the pendant, insert a custom-cut diffuser pad with their favorite essential oils. 

When you wear this piece, please remember that there is a spirit and divine energy protecting you, always. Remember to love yourself, unconditionally, and recognize all of the beauty you emulate. 

Side Note

Diffuser inserts not included. Use a portion of a cotton ball or cut small pieces of felt from any craft store for a custom-cut diffuser pad (as demonstrated in photos) to use with your favorite essential oils.
