An edition of 49 signed and numbered copies.

23x26 inch archival pigment print

Co-published with Galerie Christian Lethert on the occasion of Richard Tuttle’s show Books, Multiples, Prints, Writings and New Projects opening at the gallery in June, 2017.

Integrating a hand-written text that he’s titled Bananas, Richard sees this print poking fun of different types of negativity, while also looking towards a select group of Belgian artists, including James Ensor, and how they used their specific locale to integrate words with images.

Being the first print Tuttle has made in a few years, he counts this edition as breaking new ground for him - by having an edition printed digitally, and by including text on a piece in a way that he feels he had never been able to accomplish before, almost as if it is the first intermediary between his hand made books and his previous printmaking practices.

Tuttle has been the subject of museum exhibitions around the world, and included in the Venice Biennale, documenta, and the Whitney Biennial three times each. In 2005, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art organized a major traveling retrospective celebrating Tuttle's 40-year career. From 2012-13 Tuttle was the artist in Residence at the Getty Research Institute, and in 2014 the Whitechapel Gallery in London hosted a 50-year survey of Tuttle’s work focusing on the use of textiles in his practice. In 2016 the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York exhibited a brand new series by Tuttle titled The Critical Edge. He lives in New York, New Mexico, and Maine.
