I found this one in Pennsylvania, the land of much coveted antique, elaborately yarn/thread-wrapped pin balls, of which I've had a few. I was drawn to it like a magnet for the colors and for not having seen one like it before, and thought I would do some research to find other examples--but I really haven't found them! I believe it was made-- kind of like a pom pom--mostly as a means of making something beautiful out of scrap bits of yarn. For me it has the feel of contemporary sculpture, and keeps making me think of Nice Cave (the artist.)

3 1/8" in diameter. Wool. Very good condition, fantastic color. I think this has 100 years on it at least, but I am not completely certain.
