A beautiful 19th century French brass microscope by Nachet of Paris, engraved “Nachet – 17 rue St. Severin Paris” to the base. This is a wonderfully sculptural early scientific instrument with rich aged brass surfaces and a striking architectural form that displays exceptionally well. The piece retains its original stage, mirror and upper assembly, with lovely patina throughout consistent with age and use.

An evocative decorative object for a study, cabinet of curiosities, library or creative interior, equally suited to collectors of antique scientific instruments and photography or cinema props. The microscope has a particularly strong dark academia and Victorian laboratory aesthetic which remains highly sought after in contemporary interiors.

Please note that the lower objective lens assembly is missing, so the microscope should be considered incomplete and sold primarily as a decorative or restoration piece. There are age-related marks, surface wear and patina throughout, all adding to its character and authenticity.
