Morse Diameter Adapters insert simply and quickly into the drum holder in just a few seconds. With the hooks slightly above the drum holder, tilt the Diameter Adapter downward so that as the hooks engage the top of the drum holder band, it settles into place with its lower tabs protruding below the drum holder band.

Your drum handler is now ready to handle the smaller drum size. To return to handling a 55-gallon (210 liter) drum, simply lift the adapter out of the drum holder. Insert the correct size Diameter Adapter to handle each smaller drum. Diameter Adapters are available for sizes from 11” to 22” (27.9 to 55.9 cm) diameter.

These handy accessories allow a single Morse drum handler to handle various smaller drums. Inserting the Diameter Adapter reduces the grip diameter to match drums smaller than a standard 22.5” (57 cm) diameter 55-gallon (210 liter) steel drum. To return to handling a 55-gallon drum, simply lift the Diameter Adapter out of the drum holder.

19” Diameter Adapter is available with or without brackets. Smaller adapters have integrated holddown brackets to prevent the drum from slipping lengthways in the drum holder. Brackets adjust to for 15” to 38” tall drum. Spark resistant and stainless steel Diameter Adapters available for same diameter ranges. Recommend drums be held at middle. 

Proper size Diameter Adapter should be used only on drum with at least 8” (20.3 cm) between the ribs. Diameter Adapters are made in 1.5” (3 cm) diameter increments for common drum sizes.

How to Choose the Right Adapter

Proper fit is essential for safe and efficient drum handling. To determine the right adapter size:

• Measure the drum's outside diameter halfway down the side, between the ribs where the adapter will engage.
• Use this diameter (or divide the circumference by 3.14) to select the correct adapter for your drum.
