Chrysophyllum cainito, commonly known as the Star Apple or Cainito and Milk Fruit, is a tropical evergreen tree prized for its sweet, juicy fruits. The tree can grow 25–50 feet tall and has striking golden-brown undersides to its leaves, giving it the nickname Golden Leaf Tree.
The fruit is round with smooth skin, usually purple, green, or reddish. When cut across, the pulp reveals a star-shaped pattern, giving it the name Star Apple. The flesh is soft, sweet, and milky, eaten fresh or used in desserts and beverages.
