Tärnsjö Garveri is among the remaining 5% of tanneries in the world that still employ the traditional vegetable tanning process that utilizes only natural bark extracts, water and water based dyes. The result is a gorgeous leather that is kinder to the environment, and that is a pure joy to hold and behold.

This leather weighs in at a modest, yet durable and extremely comfortable to wear 8-9oz. The dye is semi-aniline, meaning that you can still see the natural and beautiful character of the leather. Tärnsjö possesses a beautiful grain, often with a quality that appears like wavy marbling and tiger striping.

Available in brown, dark brown, red and green. Any of these colors are going to darken with use as they develop a patina that you would expect from a natural vegetable tanned leather. Pair with my Japanese made Patented Double Prong or the original 200+ year old Single Prong Quick Release Buckle in any finish.

All quick release belts are made with teardrop holes, which besides the aesthetic difference, will allow the buckle to lie slightly more flat than a round hole, due to the oblong shape of the hole. Hardware will be secured with Pigeon Tree branded rivets for the brass option, while black nickel will be stitched with tonal thread, and nickel will be secured with nickel Chicago screws.
