The Antique Brass Wall Lamp draws on a centuries-old wall-sconce vocabulary familiar from European parlors, American libraries, and English country houses — a deeply finished brass arm anchored to a wall plate, capped with a linen drum shade that softens an E14 candelabra bulb into a warm, low-glare glow. The antique brass reads quieter than polished brass — patinated, lived-in, and built to age gracefully. The natural linen diffuses light through its weave, so what reaches the room is a flattering ambient warmth rather than a directed beam. Pairs effortlessly with traditional, transitional, French country, British classic, library-style, Hamptons, and warm-academic interiors.
Brass-tone linen reads tonal-monochrome with the antique brass hardware. White linen reads brighter and more contrasted, ideal against deeper wall colors. Brass arm finish is the same in both.
Single E14 candelabra-base bulb (LED recommended; not included). E14 is the European/Asian/Australian small candelabra screw — physically interchangeable with E12 in US/Canada (same socket diameter, different naming). Recommend a warm-white 2700K LED at 3-5W for the most flattering, candlelit-quality glow through the linen shade.
The sconce has no built-in dimmer. Dimmable when paired with a dimmable LED bulb + an LED-rated wall dimmer on the external switch.
Both shades use natural linen weave; only the color differs. The brass arm finish is the same in both:
Brass-tone linen: warm honey-beige weave that reads tonal-monochrome with the antique brass hardware. Best for cream walls, library-style rooms, warm-classic palettes, and where you want the lamp to read as one continuous warm object.
White linen: brighter and more contrasted. Best against deeper wall colors (forest green, navy, deep terracotta, charcoal) where the white shade pops, and for traditional / Hamptons rooms where the contrast adds crispness.
The lamp is a hardwired wall sconce — it mounts to a standard wall junction box and connects to a common external wall switch (not included) for on/off control. Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician unless you're experienced with line-voltage wiring.
The fixture does not have a built-in switch on the lamp body — the wall switch must be wired into the line for safe operation. IP20 rating means indoor dry locations only — not suitable for showers or directly above sinks.
The antique-brass-and-linen vocabulary pairs effortlessly with traditional, transitional, French country, British classic, library-style, Hamptons, and warm-academic interiors. Best placements:
Bedside: in pairs flanking a headboard.
Hallways: in repetition along a long corridor.
Library / study: flanking bookshelves or a reading chair.
Powder rooms: flanking a vanity mirror (above splash zone).
Reading nook: single sconce above a chair shoulder.
Entryways: flanking a console or mirror for symmetric warmth.
