Speyside is nice and smooth until you mature it in a sherry cask and then the fighting spirit comes out towards the darker side of whisky.

TASTING NOTES

Nose: Substantiates its macerated dark fruit-filled colour, plus home baking, tobacco and spices galore

Palate: Big, oily and gingery; warming to a fructiferous mix of raisins, currants, molasses and barley

Finish: Detect early mocha, followed by red fruit sauce over vanilla ice cream; all delightfully dulcet (FHL)
