About Blackadder

When I think of Blackadder.... I think of Baldrick "getting the door".... and "some beans plus some beans = 4 beans". Blackadder are an independent bottler somewhat seeming to have some inspiration but either way, bottling pretty old and damn good whisky.

Blackadder are known for their focus on that sweet nostalgic after taste & excellent cask choices with a huge range of variety that have unfortunately for us, mainly been sold outside of the UK due to Italy, Germany, Denmark, Sweden & USA wanting more of the single cask varieties so the demand is there yet in our own nation, massively underappreciated.

If you ask a whisky drinker what Springbank is, their first thought is that you live under a rock.

Springbank has been the fastest growing distillery in terms of popularity. Only producing 264,000 litres per year divided across 3 brands means less whisky for everyone say compared to a Jack Daniel's. It is lightly peated at 5PPM and the further down the rabbit hole you venture with SB, the more complex and wooden with light wood one gets. The rewards in many people's eyes is worth the extra money.

Based in Campbeltown, the distillery welcomes visitors to both of their arms for Glengyle and Kilkerran or to Springbank for its releases. The distillery has strict buying policies and can change them as they see fit to protect the majority so that people can have a fair shot at getting some. Allocations vanish immediately off shelves and is somewhat like trying to get a hold of Turbo Man in the Arnold Schwarzenegger Christmas movie.

Ignoring how popular it is, it is just excellent. If you can get a single cask of it, then it is EVEN better. You just won't see that many around hardly. There is barely enough liquid to funnel into core releases let alone fancy casks for independents to bottle.
