This antique railroad conductor’s box features a dark worn wood body, weathered metal clad lid, and traces of faded painted lettering across the front. The interior retains its removable organizer tray along with a collection of original Chicago, Milwaukee & St. Paul Railway paperwork discovered inside, including conductor passes and telegram forms. Its substantial scale and worn industrial character give the piece a strong Primitive presence that works beautifully beside a hearth, beneath a console, or as a storage piece within farmhouse and early American interiors.

CONDITION

In good condition with wear consistent with age and use. Heavily worn finish with oxidation to the metal lid and age related surface wear throughout. The removable interior tray has a small sliver of wood missing at one corner. The wire lid stay appears to be an old primitive addition to keep the lid from falling back. Includes the original interior tray and antique railway paperwork shown.
