The Geneva Academy GMF-TB108 Bb Trombone is designed to make the first stages of trombone playing approachable, rewarding and musically secure. Its resonant response and balanced playing feel help new trombonists develop confident sound production, slide technique and ensemble awareness. Supplied with a silver plated mouthpiece, cleaning rod and lightweight plush-lined ABS case, it is equipped for lessons, rehearsals and regular transport between home, school and band. Developed through collaboration between Geneva specialists, external designers and licensed manufacturing facilities, the Academy Trombone brings together practical durability, value and Geneva’s free-blowing performance character. It is ideal for school music services, training bands and leisure musicians, while providing a clear route through the Geneva musician’s pathway towards Heritage and Cardinal as players progress. With regular owner maintenance and annual servicing by Geneva’s in-house technicians, it is designed to deliver many years of dependable use.
PRE-PLAYING PREPARATION
• Check all slide move freely.
• Apply slide cream/lubricant and ensure smooth slide action.
• Empty any excess moisture before playing.
• Inspect mouthpiece fit and case contents.
POST-PLAYING MAINTENANCE
• Empty water keys and remove moisture from the instrument.
• Wipe exterior lacquered surfaces with a soft cloth.
• Remove mouthpiece and clean with warm water when required.
• Store securely in the supplied case.
MONTHLY GENEVA CLEANING REGIME
• Clean mouthpiece thoroughly using a mouthpiece brush.
• Wipe and re-lubricate valves and tuning slides.
• Check screws, valve caps and water keys.
• Inspect for dents, alignment issues or air leaks.
• Follow Geneva's owner maintenance programme and arrange annual Geneva workshop servicing.
