When a plumbing run hits a wall, a beam, or a tight mechanical space, a poorly made elbow fitting becomes the weakest point in the entire system. Contractors, facility maintenance teams, and serious DIYers who work with BSP-threaded pipe systems need a 90° elbow that holds pressure, resists corrosion, and threads on cleanly the first time — without chasing leaks after installation.
Each fitting is machined from Grade 304/316 stainless steel, combining the broad chemical resistance of 304 with the enhanced chloride resistance of 316 across the product range. Available in sizes from 1-1/4" (≈31.8mm) to 4" (≈101.6mm) with three end configurations — Female-Female (FF), Female-Male (FM), and Male-Male (MM) — so you can match the fitting directly to your existing pipe ends without adapters. Threads conform to BSP (British Standard Pipe) standards.
These BSP stainless steel elbow fittings are well suited for industrial water supply lines, compressed air distribution systems, irrigation manifolds, marine plumbing runs, and food-processing or dairy equipment where corrosion resistance and cleanability matter. The 90° turn angle makes them a go-to choice for tight-space pipe routing and wall-entry plumbing configurations.

Match the fitting size to your pipe's nominal BSP thread size — not the pipe's outer diameter. For example, a 1-1/2" BSP fitting connects to pipe with a 1-1/2" BSP thread (approximately 47.8mm / 1.88" OD). When in doubt, measure the thread OD and compare to a BSP nominal size chart. If you're unsure, contact us with your measurements and we'll help you select the correct size.
Pressure ratings vary by size and end configuration. Generally, 304/316 stainless steel BSP fittings in this size range are rated for working pressures typically between 150 PSI and 1,000 PSI depending on the nominal size. Larger sizes typically carry lower pressure ratings. Contact us to confirm the rated pressure for your specific size and application before installation in pressurized systems.
Yes. Both 304 and 316 stainless steel offer strong corrosion resistance in outdoor environments. For coastal, marine, or chloride-rich environments, 316 stainless steel is generally preferred due to its added molybdenum content, which improves resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. These fittings are suitable for outdoor plumbing, irrigation systems, and marine applications in most cases.
FF (Female-Female) has internal BSP threads on both ends — use when connecting two male-threaded pipe ends or nipples. FM (Female-Male) has one internal and one external threaded end — useful for extending a run or changing direction mid-line. MM (Male-Male) has external BSP threads on both ends — use when connecting into two female-threaded sockets or valves. Choose based on the thread type of the components you are connecting to.
BSP and NPT threads are not directly interchangeable. BSP uses a 55° thread angle while NPT uses 60°, and the thread pitches differ. In some cases BSPP (parallel) and NPT threads can be made to seal with PTFE tape, but this is not recommended for high-pressure or critical applications. Use a dedicated BSP-to-NPT adapter if you need to connect the two thread standards reliably.
304/316 stainless steel BSP elbow fittings are generally compatible with water, air, steam (within appropriate pressure and temperature limits), mild chemicals, and food-grade liquids. They are not recommended for strong acids, concentrated chlorine solutions, or highly corrosive media without confirming material compatibility. Contact us if you have a specific fluid or process application.
For BSPT (tapered) threads, PTFE thread tape or pipe dope is typically recommended to achieve a leak-free seal. For BSPP (parallel) threads, a bonded seal washer or O-ring face seal is generally used rather than tape alone. Always follow the sealing method appropriate for your thread type, system pressure, and the fluid being carried.
