Bright - Silky - Fresh

Jason Bergkloster is one of the young local winemakers aiming to change the image of the classically conventional region of Rheinhessen. The Bergkloster winery has been farming organically since 2006, but in 2018, Jason went completely au naturel, without filtering nor fining his wines and absolutely no addition of sulphites.

Here, organic Pinot Noir, Regent and Sankt Laurent grapes were hand harvested with direct press of whole bunches before fermentation with indigenous yeast. The result is a bright and fresh, silky smooth red wine, with high acidity and the merest touch of spritz. Our hands-down favourite at a recent tasting.
