Rasp File Clip Point – Buckeye Burl Handle | Handcrafted One-of-a-Kind
This handcrafted clip point knife is built from reclaimed American steel and carefully selected natural materials, creating a blade that is both highly functional and visually striking. Every knife I make is individually crafted by hand, ensuring that each piece is truly one of a kind.
The blade is forged from a reclaimed American rasp file, a high-carbon steel known for its durability and ability to take and hold a razor-sharp edge. Repurposing this steel gives the knife both outstanding performance and the unique character of the original tool it once was.
The handle features buckeye burl, a wood prized for its dramatic grain patterns and natural beauty. No two pieces of buckeye burl are ever the same, making each knife completely unique. Brown liners create a warm transition between the steel and the wood, adding subtle contrast while highlighting the natural tones of the handle. Solid brass pins secure the scales and provide a classic accent that complements the overall design.
The knife comes with a handmade Herman Oak leather sheath, finished in rich brown and built for vertical belt carry. Herman Oak leather is widely regarded as some of the finest vegetable-tanned leather produced in the United States, valued for its durability, strength, and the way it develops character and patina with age.
From forging and grinding the blade to shaping the handle and crafting the sheath, every step of the process is done by hand using only premium American-made materials. The result is a knife that performs as well in the field as it looks in a collection.
Each knife is unique—once it’s sold, it will never be duplicated.
