Juicy - Blueberry - Boysenberry
Ashleigh Barrowman cut her teeth working with legends like Patrick Sullivan, Hans Herzog, Vino di Anna, Domaine Labet, Jean-Jacques Morel and Les Bottes Rouges. After pruning Marlborough's Wrekin vineyard, she fell in love with the site and the 2021 vintage marks her first releases, with each wine named after a tarot card.
The High Priestess is light, juicy and delicate. Bursting with blueberries and boysenberries, it's reminiscent of fresh fruit ice cream. This wine is a true labour of love, inspired by Ashleigh's time working with Jean-Baptiste and Florien at Les Bottes Rouges in the Jura.
The grapes were biodynamically grown from The Wrekin vineyard, hand picked and hand destemmed, then wild fermented in a stainless steel tank with daily syphoning of the juice over top to keep the cap wet but without heavy extraction. Matured in an old puncheon. Organic. Unfined. Unfiltered. Minimal sulphites added at bottling. Only 71 cases were produced of this cuvée.
Grape: Pinot Noir
